FROM STUDENTS
REFLECTIONS ON PROJECT BLUE/PROJECT CHAIR 2020 (RIVERSIDE SECONDARY)
“It is all about working together and pulling our weight in order to create something huge.”
“I just want to have better "balance" and not hurt people.”
“I learned about taking risks instead of being afraid; I should go out there and enjoy.
It may be hard, but that's what life is.”
“You must know how to work with others in the community.”
“You must let loose and have fun.”
“Everything can go downhill in the blink of an eye.”
“Learning how to become visual actors instead of just robot actors; we went through activities and did work that taught us flow.”
“Imagination is something that can be strengthened.”
“It felt like I could actually fly away if I wanted to; the chains that held me down with worry and regret and fear of people not liking me all went away.”
“Creativity + A class of drama students who interpret the same things in different ways + Meaningful words + Choreography + music = something you can't create twice.”
“I learned a lot about how stories can be told without words. Words aren't the only things that have meaning to it. We can feel and learn through physical storytelling as well as physical contact. As humans, we can feel connected through physical touch so I learned about how physical touch can be uncomfortable, but still very powerful.”
“I learned that physical theatre relies upon the honesty and vigor of the performer's movements in order to convey emotion or tell a story.”
“Sometimes vague implications work.”
“Yes, our life might be put to a stop at times (which reminds me of walking slowly and heavy like water might) but no matter what happens, we have to keep on moving forward (like fire would, making sure nothing is standing in its path.”
