BOXED is a original devised piece of physical theatre created by Templeton Secondary students led by Susan Bertoia.
BOXED explores issues of place – where we find ourselves in relationship to mental health. Students use the box as a metaphor for home, and the home can be the physical space/place where we live but also the box that contains the inner working of our soul, thoughts and imagination. Although this concept is not a new one, the importance is significant and imperative especially now in our world of pandemic where young people struggle deeply with mental health due heavily and in part by the restrictions on physical interactions with others. Young people have expressed their desire to connect and theatre can help support this connection.
Lead Devisor/Director: Susan Bertoia
